State of the Larp Address 2/13/16

I have a lot to go over in this address so I apologize if it seems a big long. I’ll try to be brief, and if you have questions feel free to contact me directly at mbnstoryteller@gmail.com

The Player Cap

The first bit of news I have is in regards to the issue of the player cap. As some of you know I had to limit the number of players in my chronicle as excitement for the game had exceeded our expectations.

I am pleased to announce tonight that this cap has been eliminated, and I expect many more players to soon join our game. I have approached SNHU’s larp club in regards to the game, and they have graciously allowed us access to their facilities to run it. I am very excited about this, and I’m sure this will turn out to be an enjoyable experience for all of us. It will also ensure that Manchester by Night will actually be IN Manchester!

As we hope to attract many additional players, we have decided to add more staff to our game, therefore Adam Hurley will be leaving the ranks of the players and joining us behind the scenes. Adam is an experienced larper and an excellent role player, and will be an asset to our team. Adam joins Sam Gaudreault, Bill Morrison, and myself. We have a lot in store for you so get excited!

Mistgate

I will also take this opportunity to promote SNHU’s boffer larp that they run on campus. It is a fantasy game and free to play. I will likely be checking it out, so feel free to join me. More information can be found here: MISTGATE. Their page is very active and their players are friendly and open to questions, so why not give it shot?

Date Change

In order to accommodate SNHU’s academic schedule as well as those of Mistgate and other games, The Vampire Larp will debut on April 9th, much sooner than the date of April 30th, so please adjust your calendars! I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Queen City Voice

Issue 7 of the Queen City Voice is now available on the website. It can be found here: Issue 7. Remember this newsletter in an in character resource, and will help shape the events that lead up to the start of the Chronicle. Some things may seem mundane, but something darker always lies beneath the surface!

Setting Style Document

This document will replace the “permitted clans” page I had on the site. In addition to listing the clans that are allowed in game, it will also tell you the Mood and Theme of the game, along with a short teaser to set the stage. That document is under player resources and can be found here: Setting Style Document.

Clan Breakdown

I’ll wrap up with this so you can see how the game is shaping up. We got out first Toreador this week, and still have many undecided players. I am also expecting an influx of new players to the game from SNHU, so who knows what we will end up with!

Thanks for suffering through this, if you have questions let me know.
